MSC Group's Cruise Division is taking entertainment to a new level with the creation of MSC Creative Studios, designed to help deliver world-class entertainment experiences to guests.
The company acquired a production studio in Edinburgh, Scotland, which is currently being renovated to become MSC Creative Studios, a new facility dedicated to entertainment development and artist training.
The studio is expected to be fully operational by July 2026, supporting the development of shows and productions for the end-of-2026 season of MSC Cruises and Explora Journeys.
The new facility will function as a center for creative development, bringing together creative, technical, and production teams under one roof.
MSC Creative Studios will feature a dedicated space for aerial rehearsals, eleven dance studios, six vocal studios, a technical recording studio, offices and lounges for artists, dressing rooms and changing facilities, as well as storage spaces for scenery, props and costumes.
This facility will support rehearsals, technical training, development of stage techniques and preparation of artists prior to the launch of the onboard shows.
Steve Leatham, Vice President of Entertainment for MSC Cruises, said: “Having a dedicated space for the development and training of our entertainment is essential as we continue to expand the scale and ambition of our productions. This state-of-the-art facility will help ensure our shows are launch-ready and consistently presented at the highest quality, reinforcing the Cruises Division’s long-term commitment to innovation in onboard entertainment.”
MSC Creative Studios will be a dynamic hub where artists, technicians, and creatives can collaborate from the very beginning of each project. Based in Edinburgh, one of the world’s great cultural capitals, the studio will draw inspiration from the city’s rich artistic energy, and we look forward to seeing it come to life and share exciting new concepts with our MSC Cruises and Explora Journeys guests.”
