Throughout the month of March, Puerto Vallarta received two cruise ships simultaneously on four dates, demonstrating a solid performance in the maritime sector by the destination.
On March 11 and 18, the Royal Princess and Norwegian Bliss cruise ships made double arrivals, the same two vessels that are scheduled to return to the destination next Wednesday, March 25.
In addition, on Tuesday, March 31, the Carnival Panorama and the Royal Princess will arrive again, thus completing the four double arrivals planned for this month.
The Royal Princess cruise ship has a capacity for 3,979 passengers and a crew of 1,339, bringing an average of 5,318 visitors each time it arrives. With its four arrivals, it will have brought a total of 21,272 people this month.
The Norwegian Bliss has a capacity for 4,788 passengers and 1,602 crew members, totaling 6,390 people on board. With four scheduled arrivals in March, it will have brought 25,560 visitors by the end of the month.
As for the Carnival Panorama, it has a capacity of 4,008 passengers and a crew of 1,450, for a total of 5,458 people on board. With two scheduled visits—it also docked at the port of Jalisco earlier this month—it will bring 10,916 visitors in March.
In total, the four double arrivals will bring 45,900 people to Puerto Vallarta, generating significant economic activity in the city. While some choose to stroll through the historic center and its iconic boardwalk, others opt for an adventure tour in nature or simply enjoy the exquisite cuisine and go shopping.
This logistical milestone, managed by the National Port System Administration (ASIPONA), coincides with the 60th anniversary of Princess Cruises, a company that since December 1965 —after the inaugural voyage of the Princess Patricia— transformed Puerto Vallarta into a benchmark of the world shipping industry.
