Iberia has planned its largest ever seat offering for the summer season, which begins on March 29. In total, Iberia will offer its customers 21,420,165 seats during the summer season. The airline is increasing its capacity in virtually all its markets, with particularly significant growth in the United States, Canada, and Latin America.
In the domestic and European markets alone, 15,998,692 seats will be offered. Among the new additions are two new destinations in Europe: Bucharest and Tivat.
The United States and Canada account for the largest increase in capacity compared to last summer. Together, 1,280,254 places will be offered, representing a 19.02% increase compared to the same period last year.
In Latin America, the offer will reach 3,354,159, a 7.6% increase, consolidating Iberia's leadership in connecting this region with Europe.
This operation is complemented by nearly 800,000 additional seats for the rest of Iberia's network destinations in Africa and Asia, thus completing one of the company's most ambitious summer schedules.
This increase in seats occurs during the full development of the Flight Plan 2030 and is driven by the incorporation in recent months of new long-haul aircraft, including 6 new A321XLRs and an A350-900.
United States and Canada
In North America, Toronto will be one of Iberia's key destinations this summer, joining its network as a new stop. Starting June 13, the airline will operate five weekly flights between Madrid and Toronto Pearson, offering a total of 34,576 seats until the end of the season.
In the United States, Iberia is focusing its growth on its main markets. New York will be a key hub for operations, with the addition of a new daily flight to Newark Airport starting March 29, joining the two daily flights already operated to JFK. The new Newark service is especially geared towards corporate clients, as it provides more direct access to Manhattan's financial district, reducing travel time for short-stay business trips. With this addition, the airline will operate three daily flights between Madrid and New York, offering 352,055 seats, a 43% increase compared to last summer.
Furthermore, this will be the first full summer in which Iberia will operate the route to Orlando, inaugurated in October 2025, with three weekly frequencies and a total of 51,856 seats.
The schedule is rounded out with two daily flights to Boston thanks to the addition of the A321XLR, as well as to Miami; and one daily flight each to Dallas, Chicago, and Washington. Los Angeles will offer up to one daily flight during June, July, and August, while San Francisco will have three weekly flights.
Latin America
Once again, Latin America will occupy a central place in Iberia's strategy for the upcoming summer season, as it will greatly increase capacity to connect this region with Europe, up to 3,354,159 seats, representing a growth of 7.6% compared to the same season a year earlier.
The main new features for this summer season include new routes to Recife and Fortaleza in Brazil, and Monterrey in Mexico, a route that will begin operating on June 2nd with three weekly frequencies.
In addition, the airline is also highlighting the increased capacity in Argentina, where during June, July, and August, flights to the capital will increase to 23 weekly frequencies, up from the current 21. This will make it the airline's first long-haul destination to exceed three daily flights. Buenos Aires will offer 456,000 seats, 12% more than last summer.
Brazil will also see a 15% increase in the number of seats compared to last summer, the Dominican Republic will increase its capacity by 21% this season, and Chile will have 7% more. Puerto Rico will also see an increase, going from 10 to 12 weekly flights.
Europe: New destinations and seasonal routes
Iberia continues to strengthen its network of European destinations for the summer with the addition of two new routes: Bucharest (Romania) and Tivat (Montenegro).
The route to Bucharest will have two weekly flights, on Wednesdays and Sundays, and will operate from June 3 to September 30, 2026. Meanwhile, Tivat will join the network with two weekly flights, between July 18 and September 15.
These new routes complement the seasonal routes already operated in previous summers. Croatia will once again be one of the countries with the strongest presence in Iberia's summer network. Flights to Dubrovnik will begin in April and continue until October, with up to 14 weekly frequencies. Direct routes to Zagreb and Split will also return throughout the summer, both with up to nine weekly frequencies.
The airline is also resuming operations to the Italian and Greek islands. In Italy, Iberia will restart flights to Catania in April, with up to eight weekly frequencies, and to Palermo, which will operate between July and September with up to three weekly frequencies. These are in addition to connections to Sardinia, specifically Olbia, with up to five weekly frequencies, and Cagliari with up to three.
In Greece, Iberia will offer flights to Corfu and Mykonos, with up to seven weekly frequencies, and Santorini, with up to six, operating between June and September.
In addition, Iberia will resume its summer operations to Funchal (Madeira), with up to five weekly flights throughout the summer; Ponta Delgada (Azores), with three; Tirana (Albania), with three; and Ljubljana (Slovenia), with two weekly flights. In the case of Ljubljana, the operating period will be extended to run from June to September.
In addition to all this, capacity will be increased in other key European destinations during the summer season:
• Athens: The service will increase to 16 weekly flights in April, May, and October, four more than last summer. In August, it will reach a maximum capacity of 29 weekly flights.
• Milan: Two weekly frequencies are added, reaching 44 weekly flights throughout the summer.
• Nice: three additional frequencies are added, reaching 24 weekly flights in the summer season.
