Air traffic in Colombia continues to solidify its position as a strategic pillar for the tourism sector and the country's connectivity. In January 2026, total air traffic reached 5.5 million passengers, representing a 7.3% increase compared to the same month in 2025, reflecting positive growth in both the domestic and international segments.
“The domestic market showed a 9.5% increase compared to January 2025, with 3.1 million passengers traveling on domestic flights; it is worth noting that this increase surpasses that observed in January of the previous year, which was 3.3%. Meanwhile, international traffic registered 2.4 million passengers, with a 4.5% increase, confirming Colombia's position as an attractive destination in the region,” stated Paula Cortés Calle, Executive President of ANATO.
Regarding air operations, the performance of the main airlines in the domestic market during January 2026 stands out. Avianca held a 41.9% market share, followed by Latam Airlines with 27%, and JetSmart, which continues to gain market share with a remarkable growth of 37.8%. In the international segment, Avianca also maintains its leadership with a 47.1% market share, while airlines such as Copa-Wingo and Latam continue to gain ground, together accounting for nearly a quarter of the total market share, which corresponds to 23.7%.
These results occur within a context where, during 2025, air transport moved more than 57.5 million passengers in Colombia, with moderate growth of 1.7% compared to 2024 and greater dynamism in the international segment, registering an increase of 6.1%.
