Barbados takes center stage as Copa Airlines' Destination of the Month, now backed by a strategic increase in air connectivity for the upcoming summer travel period.
As part of this initiative, Copa Airlines will temporarily increase service between Panama City (PTY) and Barbados from five (5) to seven (7) daily flights between July 27 and September 14, 2026, operating a 160-seat Boeing 737-800 aircraft. This additional frequency, introduced during the peak summer demand, reinforces Barbados' growing appeal within the Latin American market and provides travelers with even greater access to the island.
Along with this expanded connectivity, Copa Airlines is launching a limited-time promotional campaign throughout March, highlighting Barbados' vibrant culture, culinary scene, and coastal beauty. Travelers can enjoy special fares ranging from 10% to 30% off flights from select cities across Latin America.
Promotion Details:
Sales Period: March 1 – March 31, 2026
Travel Period: March 8 – July 4, 2026

The increased summer flight frequencies are part of a strategic effort to meet seasonal demand and strengthen Barbados' connectivity through Copa Airlines' extensive Latin American network. BTMI is leveraging this opportunity to boost awareness and conversion during a key travel window, supporting strong performance during this trial period.
This increase in air travel coincides with one of the island's most vibrant and sought-after times: the Crop Over Festival, Barbados' premier six-week series of cultural events. Deeply rooted in the island's history and celebrated over several weeks, Crop Over brings together music, food, heritage, and the penultimate and spectacular street parade known as the Grand Kadooment, held on the first Monday of August. The festival culminates with the biggest outdoor concert of the season, Soca '26.
The introduction of daily service gives travelers greater access to experience the island at its most dynamic and culturally rich. Beyond the festival, Barbados offers a captivating mix of experiences: from crystal-clear waters with soft sandy beaches and UNESCO World Heritage sites, to world-class rum production and a thriving culinary scene. Combined with a year-round calendar of events and ongoing tourism investment, the island continues to strengthen its appeal as a leading Caribbean destination for Latin American travelers.
