The port of Acapulco reaffirms its position as a venue for major international events, after the Mexican Open Tennis Tournament was confirmed for its 2027 edition.

At the direction of Governor Evelyn Salgado Pineda, the Secretary of Tourism, Simón Quiñones Orozco, communicated directly with tournament organizers, who confirmed their decision to hold the event in the port city. Following this announcement, the organizers released official promotional materials, reinforcing the certainty of this important sporting event taking place in the port.

The official highlighted the close coordination between the state government and the organizers, emphasizing the fundamental role of the state governor in the efforts that have ensured the continuity of this tournament, considered one of the most important in Latin America.

Beyond the sporting arena, the Mexican Open Tennis Tournament is consolidating itself as a strategic asset for the state, with international impact by generating confidence for investors, strengthening global positioning and triggering economic development.

Among its main benefits, an economic impact of over 700 million pesos is estimated, along with the generation of more than 11,000 direct jobs, benefiting thousands of families in Guerrero and activating various production chains.

Furthermore, the tournament projects Acapulco onto the world stage, with broadcasts in more than 180 countries through more than 30 international channels, representing a media exposure of great value.
