The Dominican flag carrier Arajet, through its social responsibility program “My First Flight”, made it possible for 95-year-old Estanislao Ureña Ramírez to travel outside the Dominican Republic for the first time, reuniting with his family in New York City.

The initiative, which is part of the airline's vision to democratize the possibility of travel, seeks to give Dominicans who have never boarded a plane the opportunity to experience other countries and cultures, thus promoting human connection and bringing families closer together.

For Mr. Estanislao, this trip represented much more than a flight; it was the fulfillment of a long-awaited dream, allowing him not only to reunite with his loved ones, but also to visit New York City for the first time, considered one of the world's capitals, with his family and the support of Arajet.

Since its creation, the “My First Flight” program has impacted nearly 1,000 Dominican citizens, who have had the opportunity to travel outside the country for the first time, reaffirming the airline's social commitment to human development and inclusion.

“The case of Mr. Etanislao is a powerful reminder of why we do what we do. At Arajet, we firmly believe that flying should not be a privilege, but an accessible opportunity for everyone. Through 'My First Flight,' we continue to connect families, create transformative experiences, and bring more Dominicans closer to the world,” said Víctor Pacheco Méndez, CEO and founder of Arajet.

With this type of initiative, Arajet continues to consolidate itself as an airline that not only connects destinations, but also stories, actively contributing to social inclusion and the strengthening of family ties through access to air transport.
