Against one of the most extraordinary landscapes in the Mexican Caribbean, Impression Isla Mujeres celebrated the official unveiling of its AAA Five Diamond plaque, solidifying this recognition as a tangible moment in its history and as a celebration of the excellence that defines every aspect of its experience.
The property has been awarded the AAA Five Diamond Award, one of the most prestigious accolades in the international hotel industry, granted to less than 1% of the more than 23,000 properties evaluated. This achievement places Impression Isla Mujeres within an exceptionally exclusive group, solidifying its position as a benchmark of contemporary luxury in the Mexican Caribbean and as an expression of a concept that redefines the experience of luxury.
More than a formal event, the evening became a living expression of what the resort represents: a hospitality that transcends the traditional to become a sensory, emotional experience deeply connected with its surroundings.
An experience that began at sea
The celebration began at sunset, when guests set sail from Marina Hacienda del Mar aboard the resort's private catamaran bound for the island. Upon arrival, they were greeted with a warm welcome that marked the beginning of an evening meticulously designed to surprise in every detail.
The first event took place at El Tëmplo, the resort's iconic structure, where a welcome cocktail was offered with an activation inspired by service excellence: upon ringing a bell, a white-gloved butler appeared to deliver a glass of champagne, kicking off the experience.
Simultaneously, urban artist Emanuel Sánchez Montiel (Meme Sánchez) performed a live art installation inspired by the marine species shark. The work, titled King of the Ocean, was auctioned during the event to benefit the Saving Our Sharks Foundation, raising over $10,000 USD for marine conservation.
Words that marked the moment
As the sun set and the sky turned Caribbean in color, General Manager Mourad Essafi delivered a welcoming and thank-you speech, highlighting the presence of authorities such as Mayor Atenea Gómez Ricalde, Secretary of Tourism Bernardo Cueto, and Secretary of Health Flavio Carlos Rosado. He also acknowledged the vision of the owners Alejandro Zozaya, Jorge Macari, Teresa de la Peña, Manuel, Bernardo, and Juan Pablo Linss, as well as the work of architects Andrés Cajiga and Nadia Borrás.
Essafi emphasized that this achievement has one undisputed protagonist: the resort's team, 85% of whom commute daily from Cancún to Isla Mujeres, demonstrating a deep commitment and passion for creating unique experiences. She also expressed special gratitude to the guests, who are the reason for every effort and the inspiration behind the team's daily dedication. "They motivate us to exceed expectations and transform each stay into an unforgettable memory," she noted, reinforcing the hospitality philosophy that distinguishes Impression Isla Mujeres.
The culminating moment came with the presence of Chris Andersen, representative of AAA, who presented the official plaque and commemorative pins to the owners, authorities and executive committee, sealing Impression Isla Mujeres' entry into the elite of international hospitality.
A celebration worthy of the recognition
The night continued at UNIK Sky Lounge Rooftop, the highest point on Isla Mujeres, where panoramic views combined with a vibrant atmosphere. International DJ KICE and violinist Amanda Brooks (Violin Girl) delivered a live set that fused sophistication and celebration.
Guests enjoyed culinary stations showcasing the five signature restaurants of the resort, led by Executive Chef Manuel Morales and Simone Barella, chef of Spezia. Holistic experiences such as tarot readings, Reiki, and displays of quartz and gemstones were also offered. Among the attendees were prominent national and international celebrities who lent prestige and visibility to the event.
On the national side, figures such as Natasha Dupeyrón, Alejandro Nones, Maritere Alessandri, José María Torre, Isabel Burr, Gonzalo García Vivanco, Ximena Lamadrid, Bárbara López were present, as well as Roberto Palazuelos, an icon of the Riviera Maya and a reference point for luxury tourism in Mexico, and María Chacón, a Mexican actress recognized for her versatility and growing influence in the entertainment industry.
Internationally, the event featured the participation of Kira Kosarin, an American actress and singer, and Star Jones, a renowned judge and television personality in the United States.
The closing ceremony was marked by a spectacular display of 120 drones that illuminated the sky with figures of sharks, the five diamonds, and the name Impression, encapsulating the spirit of innovation, excitement, and connection with the sustainable environment.
International corporate presence
The event also featured the participation of the Hyatt Inclusive Collection corporate team, led by Philippe Frey, Senior Vice President of Operations, and Gino Autiero, Regional Vice President of Operations, who, along with other executives, reaffirmed the company's commitment to continue consolidating Impression Isla Mujeres as a global benchmark for hospitality and luxury.
A sanctuary where the experience is everything.
Beyond the celebration, Impression Isla Mujeres distinguishes itself with a concept where every detail has been designed to elevate the guest experience. From arrival on a private catamaran, the resort introduces an environment where hospitality is experienced through freedom, personalized attention, and a constant connection with the sea.
Its signature service, Endless Privileges™, is reflected in a seamless and uninterrupted experience, where time expands and every moment adapts to the guest's pace. Spaces such as its open terraces, infinity pools, 123 luxury suites, and curated culinary offerings, accompanied by a select collection of 17 premium wines, coexist with a holistic wellness approach at Pure Spa, creating a sensory experience that balances rest, pleasure, and contemplation.
Here, luxury is expressed in the subtle: in the anticipatory service, in the architecture that engages with the light and the surroundings, and in an atmosphere designed to be lived in, shared, and remembered. Every corner becomes a stage where aesthetics and experience converge, solidifying the property as a benchmark of contemporary luxury in the Caribbean.
A recognition that is lived
The unveiling of the AAA Five Diamond plaque not only symbolizes an achievement, but reaffirms a philosophy: luxury understood as an experience, as attention to detail and as a way of inhabiting the world with sensitivity.
Because here, luxury isn't just seen. It's lived.
