The state of Quintana Roo continues to strengthen its tourism performance during the 2026 Easter season, surpassing the previous year's figures for hotel occupancy and visitor arrivals. The region is thus positioned as one of the most sought-after destinations globally during this key period for the industry.
According to official data, the Mexican Caribbean reached an average hotel occupancy rate of 80.7%, up from 78.9% in 2015, reflecting sustained growth in demand. At the same time, the arrival of more than 1.2 million tourists is projected throughout the holiday season.
Throughout the week, the region's various destinations—including Cancún, the Riviera Maya, and Tulum—welcomed more than 600,000 visitors, reinforcing the positive trend in tourism to the state. Furthermore, over 10,000 additional tourists arrived compared to the same period last year.
Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa highlighted that these results are due to the combination of a solid hotel infrastructure, the diversity of available experiences, and the natural appeal of the destination, characterized by its beaches, cultural heritage, and comprehensive tourism offerings.
In this context, the Mexican Caribbean reinforces its position as one of the world's leading tourist destinations, especially during peak seasons, consolidating its position as an international benchmark in vacation tourism.
