ibis opens its doors in Caruaru and strengthens Accor’s expansion in Northeast Brazil
ibis Caruaru, part of Accor’s portfolio, a global leader in hospitality, has officially opened its doors, marking the arrival of the first branded hotel in the city and the company’s expansion in Pernambuco
The property features 120 rooms across five floors, as well as a restaurant and a gym. The development follows ibis’ international standards, is pet-friendly, and has generated 18 direct jobs and around 40 indirect jobs in the region.
With this opening, Accor now has 10 hotels in the state and reinforces its expansion strategy in economically strong cities outside capital hubs, particularly along the so-called “agribusiness route.” This move aligns with the steady growth of corporate-driven destinations supported by regional production chains. At the same time, Caruaru also stands out in the leisure segment, known as the “Capital of Forró” and host to one of the largest June festivals in the world, boosting occupancy potential year-round.
Located in the Maurício de Nassau district, one of the city’s main commercial and service hubs, ibis Caruaru offers easy access to key regional points such as the BR-232 highway and business centers. It is also close to major cultural attractions, including the Caruaru Handicraft Fair and Alto do Moura, the largest center of figurative clay art in the Americas. The hotel is just 650 meters from the Luiz Gonzaga Events Patio, the main venue of the city’s São João festival, making it the closest accommodation option to the event.

Located in Pernambuco’s Agreste region, Caruaru is one of the main economic hubs in the interior of Northeast Brazil, with strong activity in commerce, services, and garment manufacturing, especially within the Agreste Fashion Hub. The city also stands out for its strong cultural identity and year-round dynamism, combining tradition and development in one of the state’s most relevant regions.
