One month ahead of its inaugural Alaska season, MSC Cruises has officially launched the countdown with MSC Poesia departing dry dock and beginning its journey to Seattle, where it will operate during the 2026 summer season.
This marks the first time the company will sail in Alaska, expanding its presence in North America and bringing its signature blend of European style and American comfort to one of the world’s most sought-after cruise destinations.
Ahead of its debut in the region, MSC Poesia will arrive in Miami on April 22 and depart the following day on a special itinerary crossing the Panama Canal en route to Seattle. The ship will arrive on May 11, when it will begin its seven-night Alaska sailings.
A refreshed onboard experience
Following its refurbishment, MSC Poesia now features an enhanced onboard offering, including the addition of MSC Yacht Club, the brand’s exclusive “ship-within-a-ship” concept.
Dining options have been expanded with new venues such as Butcher’s Cut, an American-style steakhouse, and Kaito Sushi Bar, offering freshly prepared sushi and Asian cuisine.
Wellness facilities have also been reimagined, including a redesigned MSC Aurea Spa with treatments tailored for colder climates and a refreshed thermal area. The ship also features an upgraded gym powered by Technogym, with new equipment and dedicated studio spaces.
Lynn Torrent, President of MSC Cruises North America, said: “In one month, we will begin a new chapter that reflects our continued investment in North America and our commitment to offering enriching experiences in some of the world’s most iconic destinations. The enhancements on board MSC Poesia will provide guests with greater comfort, choice and flexibility.”
