The District of Medellín has once again been nominated for the 2026 World Travel Awards, considered among the most prestigious recognitions in the global tourism industry. The city stands out with multiple nominations, reflecting its position as a leading destination and the strength of its tourism ecosystem.

Voting is now open, with Medellín competing in strategic South American categories such as best business destination, city breaks, cultural tourism, festivals and events, and meetings and conferences. In addition, the Greater Medellín Convention & Visitors Bureau has been nominated as the region's best tourism promotion office.

Likewise, various stakeholders in the tourism ecosystem are part of these nominations. These include hotels such as San Fernando Plaza, InterContinental Medellín, NH Collection Medellín Royal, York Medellín, and Click Clack Hotel, as well as agencies and tour operators like Gema Tours and Palenque Tours.

These nominations not only represent recognition, but also an opportunity to strengthen the international positioning of Medellín and Antioquia, attract more visitors, events and investment, and consolidate tourism as an engine of economic and social development.

In a context where the conversation about tourism usually focuses on its challenges, these applications also allow us to highlight its positive impact on job creation, business strengthening and the international projection of the city.

Voting is open to the public through the official awards website and the process takes less than ten minutes, including registration, email verification and category selection in the South America and Colombia regions.

The invitation is directed to citizens, businesspeople and allies in the sector to join and support the work that positions Medellín as a world-class destination.
