Turkish Airlines announced changes to its senior management structure. In line with the company's corporate objectives, new appointments were made to both the Board of Directors and the CEO position.
Professor Murat Şeker, who for many years held key roles in areas such as finance, treasury and investor relations, serving as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the airline, was appointed as Chairman of the Board and Executive Committee of Turkish Airlines.
Professor Murat Şeker earned his undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering from Marmara University in 2000, a master's degree in Economics from Sabancı University, and a doctorate in Economics from the University of Minnesota. In his international career, he participated in various operational projects and was responsible for preparing public policy reports and academic studies on innovation, entrepreneurship, international trade, and growth in developing countries during his time as an economist at the World Bank between 2008 and 2013.
Between 2013 and 2016, he worked at Ziraat Bank as Senior Vice President of Financial Institutions and Investor Relations, where he was responsible for international financing and managing relationships with financial institutions and investors. During that period, he also served on the boards of Ziraat Investment, Ziraat Private Pension, and Ziraat Insurance.
In July 2016, he was appointed Chief Financial Officer of Turkish Airlines, with responsibility for financing, treasury, accounting, purchasing, and investor relations. Since March 2021, he has been a member of the airline's Board of Directors and Executive Committee. He also serves on the boards of Turkish Technic and SunExpress.
Since 2024, he has been a member of the Financial Advisory Council of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), an organization he has chaired since 2025. This council advises the IATA Board and its affiliated bodies on policy issues related to financial services.
In academia, he was an adjunct lecturer at Boğaziçi University from 2015 to 2018, and in December 2025 he was awarded the title of Professor. He is married and has three children.
As part of these changes in senior management, Ahmet Olmuştur, who for years led strategic sales and marketing operations as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), was appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Turkish Airlines.
Born in Istanbul in 1980, Ahmet Olmuştur graduated in Business Administration from Marmara University and obtained an MBA through an international program in collaboration with Long Island University (New York), European Business School (London) and Pôle Universitaire Léonard de Vinci (Paris).
His career began in 2000 as a part-time employee in the Turkish Airlines call center. From that experience at one of the company's main points of contact, he developed a distinguished career that culminated in his reaching senior management.
After starting his career in the call center, he continued with the airline as a flight analyst in the Revenue Management area. Over time, he held various key positions within the same department, including global distribution systems manager, revenue management and pricing manager, and senior vice president of revenue management.
From 2014 he served as Chief Marketing and Sales Officer and, from 2024, he led the company's commercial operations as Chief Commercial Officer.
Throughout his career, he has made significant contributions in strategic areas such as route network planning, revenue management and pricing, sales and marketing operations, customer experience, and the Miles&Smiles loyalty program. He is also a member of the Board of Directors and Audit Committee of SunExpress, the Board of Directors of Turkish Technic, and the IATA Distribution Advisory Council.
He is also actively involved in institutions such as the Prof. Fuat Sezgin Foundation for Research on the History of Islamic Science, the Turkish Golf Federation, the Foundation for Tourism Development and Education, and the Turkish National Olympic Committee.
He is married and has three children.
