Costa Cruises' 2026/27 winter season in the northern hemisphere opens with a renewed offering that highlights iconic destinations and natural landscapes of extraordinary beauty, enriched by two major new additions: the debut of the Costa Smeralda in the Canary Islands and the repositioning of the Costa Pacifica in the Western Mediterranean, where it will offer both weekly cruises and longer itineraries through southern Europe and north Africa.
The Canary Islands take center stage in the 2026/27 season: an archipelago of eternal spring with spectacular landscapes ranging from striking volcanic scenery to immense dunes sculpted by nature. Against this backdrop, the Costa Smeralda, the fleet's flagship, will sail an itinerary exploring islands of captivating beauty: the sculpted landscapes of Lanzarote, the dunes of Fuerteventura carved by light and wind, the imposing presence of Mount Teide overlooking Tenerife, and the diverse nuances of Gran Canaria. Meanwhile, the island of Madeira adds an exotic touch with its lush mountains and panoramic ocean views. For the first time, the itinerary includes an overnight stay in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, inviting guests to enjoy the city's markets, the lights of the Atlantic, and its vibrant nightlife.
Sailing becomes an integral part of the journey thanks to Sea Destinations: unique locations at sea brought to life through immersive experiences designed by Italian creative director Luca Tommassini. His artistic direction creates atmospheres, narratives, and sets that amplify the magic of the exact spot where the ship is located. Among them are Canary Sea Darkest Spot, where the ship reaches the darkest point in the Canary Islands to immerse guests in a true "sea of stars," and Atlantis Crest, where the ship approaches an underwater mountain that could be the origin of the Atlantis myth, reviving the legend with evocative staging and profound sounds.
The Costa Pacifica will take guests on a journey through the cultural capitals of Southern Europe and North Africa, revealing an unexpected side of the Mediterranean Sea. Weekly cruises include historic cities such as Savona, Marseille, Barcelona, Naples, Palermo, and Rome/Civitavecchia, along with Tunis (La Goleta), where the Medina, souks, and archaeological sites of Carthage and Sidi Bou Said offer captivating oriental atmospheres.
The longer itineraries delve into the heat of the south, stopping in Malaga, amidst Andalusian art and tradition; Tangier, with its mosaic alleyways and its mint-scented Medina; and again Tunis, gateway to the treasures of Carthage.
The Mediterranean remains one of the most sought-after destinations, even during winter, thanks to its mild climate and rich heritage. The Costa Toscana offers an itinerary through Italy, France, and Spain—highlighted by the radiant city of Palma de Mallorca—for an experience that blends art cities with local traditions. From March 2027, a spectacular Sea Destination will return to the itinerary: the Balearic Sea Darkest Spot, a unique opportunity to observe the night sky from one of the darkest and most pristine stretches of the Mediterranean.
Caribbean: Tropical Warmth and the "Fly & Cruise" Formula.
For those who dream of tropical warmth, the Caribbean takes center stage once again with the Costa Fascinosa and the Costa Favolosa, each offering different itineraries among the Greater and Lesser Antilles: white sand beaches, turquoise waters, and Creole markets. The formula is "fly & cruise," with embarkations from La Romana (Dominican Republic) for the Costa Fascinosa, and Santo Domingo, Pointe-à-Pitre (Guadeloupe), or Fort-de-France (Martinique) for the Costa Favolosa.
The Costa Fascinosa alternates between two proposals:
The first includes Barbados, St. Lucia, St. Kitts and Nevis, Pointe-à-Pitre and Tortola, with two spectacular Sea Destinations: Caribbean Sea Darkest Spot and Guadeloupe Bay, where a show on the water envelops the bay in a captivating glow.
The second itinerary explores the Dominican Republic in depth, visiting Cabo Rojo—a destination with a port designed specifically for cruise passengers, surrounded by jungle and desert—as well as Arroyo Barril and Catalina Island. The latter is experienced both on land and at sea with the Sea Destination Catalina Bay, at the most iconic point of the historic privateering routes. The experience is completed by the Sea Destination Archipelago Turks & Caicos, where the Caribbean sunset ignites the crystal-clear waters with tropical sounds.
The Costa Favolosa, for its part, offers itineraries that touch six islands in a single cruise, including the British Virgin Islands and Antigua/Sint Maarten, along with two beloved Sea Destinations: Sea of Antilles Darkest Spot and Martinique Bay, which lights up under the moon with a celebration inspired by the Martinique Carnival.
A Far Eastern Immersion:
Looking ahead to autumn, Costa enriches the season with a total immersion in Japan aboard the Costa Serena: eleven days discovering Tokyo, Kyoto, Kanazawa, Nagasaki, Kochi, Kagoshima, and Hakodate. The journey is enhanced by a Sea Destination inspired by the country's charm, where the ship positions itself in an iconic bay with the silhouette of Mount Sakurajima on the horizon.
Epic Around the World Adventure
Finally, only with Costa can guests choose between two extraordinary Around the World Cruises departing in 2026: the first aboard the Costa Serena, with a 66-day itinerary through Asia, Oceania and South America; and the second aboard the Costa Deliziosa, a 139-day voyage that includes new features such as a day on the private island of Half Moon Cay (Bahamas) —for the first time exclusive to Costa customers—, in addition to cities on both coasts of the U.S., Hawaii, Tahiti, Fiji, Australia, Japan and Southeast Asia.
