More than 990,000 Colombians traveled abroad during the first two months of 2026, representing a 12% increase compared to the same period of the previous year.

Among the destinations that registered the greatest increases between January and February 2026 were Curaçao, with an 89% increase, and Guatemala and El Salvador, each with a 50% increase. There was also strong growth in key markets such as the Dominican Republic (+32%), Panama (+28%), and Peru (+11%).

In 2025, a 4% increase in Colombian travel abroad was observed, with 5.8 million travelers. “This trend is made possible by increased air connectivity and an increasingly competitive tourism offering. Furthermore, it confirms an evolution in the profile of the domestic traveler, since, despite tourists' loyalty to traditional destinations, there is a growing interest in new experiences, which opens up opportunities for the tourism sector and travel agencies,” stated Paula Cortés Calle, Executive President of ANATO.

While traditional destinations such as the United States, Spain, Panama, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic maintain their leadership, concentrating more than 65% of the market in 2025, significant dynamism was observed in other emerging markets, such as Puerto Rico, Brazil, El Salvador, France, and Turkey, which registered individual growth exceeding 30%, totaling more than 392,000 departures.
