A new chapter begins for the athletes selected for the Silla E (Extraordinary Chair) program, who will begin their travels to represent the country in various competitions both within and outside of Colombia. With outstanding participation from athletes across different regions, this program is establishing itself as a concrete support for those who need air travel to compete and continue developing in their disciplines.

The national call for applications received 188 submissions, from which more than 50 stories of Colombian athletes from various regions of the country, such as Antioquia, Risaralda, San Andrés and Providencia, Cundinamarca, Valle del Cauca, and Boyacá, were selected. To support their participation in various competitions, Avianca will provide 100 tickets allowing the athletes to travel with their coach or companion, recognizing that behind every achievement there is a team that makes their growth possible.

“At Avianca, we believe that talent needs real opportunities to reach its full potential. These more than 50 Colombian athletes simply need opportunities to compete, succeed, and demonstrate their full capabilities. At Avianca, we support them. We are happy to put our aircraft at the service of these exceptional Colombian athletes, thanks to the E-Seat program,” said Felipe Andrés Gómez Vivas, Vice President of Public Affairs and Sustainability at Avianca.
The beneficiaries represent disciplines such as skating, fencing, triathlon, athletics, artistic gymnastics, BMX, climbing, inline hockey, swimming, and badminton, among others, reflecting the diversity and reach of Colombian sporting talent.

It should be noted that the athletes will be able to use the tickets to travel between February and December 2026, and their testimonials reflect the significance and impact that this opportunity has on their sporting development.

For Mariana Escobar, an inline hockey player who will travel to Asunción, Paraguay, to compete in her sport, the E-Chair represents a key boost in her athletic development: “Thank you so much for this significant and special benefit for us athletes in this country. Participating in competitions requires enormous effort, discipline, and sacrifice; however, thanks to your support, we are one step closer to fulfilling our dream of representing Colombia well in sports.”

For Diego Acevedo, an athlete who will travel to Buenos Aires, this support becomes a platform to continue growing and motivating others through sport: “Thank you for this opportunity, which represents a fundamental boost in my athletic career. This support not only brings me closer to new competitions, but also allows me to continue inspiring more people to believe in the power of sport and the importance of representing Colombia with pride and commitment.”

For Alejandra Brando, a sport climber who will travel to New York to compete in her discipline, the support transcends the trip and becomes a message of confidence: “Winning Chair E is not just receiving a ticket, it is receiving a message that I will carry with me forever: that when you dream big and work with discipline, someone also decides to believe in you.”

With Silla E, Avianca reaffirms its commitment to putting its network and operations at the service of Colombians. This initiative is part of the company's efforts to connect opportunities, enable dreams, and help the country's sporting talent reach further and represent Colombia on the world stage.
