The IMM (International Media Marketplace), organized by TravMedia, took place on the 13th at the InterContinental São Paulo. Arakur Ushuaia Resort & Spa stands out as one of the leading luxury developments in Patagonia and has been part of The Leading Hotels of the World since its opening. With 130 rooms and suites, the hotel is located 250 meters above sea level, making it the highest in the city of Ushuaia. Its privileged location offers unique panoramic views, including Ushuaia Bay, the Beagle Channel, the Andes mountain range, and the entire surrounding city.
Ushuaia as a synthesis of Patagonia
According to Marcela Cuesta, the destination brings together in one place everything Patagonia has to offer. The region combines sea, mountains, snow, and a wide range of outdoor activities. Experiences include sailing, hiking, train rides, winter sports, wildlife observation such as penguins and whales, as well as adventure activities, making Ushuaia a complete destination for different traveler profiles.
The recommendation to fully enjoy the destination is around seven days of stay, although shorter four-day packages are also available. The hotel caters to both couples and families, with experiences that balance relaxation and activities.
In addition to Arakur, the group also operates Los Cauquenes hotel, aimed at travelers seeking a different proposal but equally well located in the Bahía Golondrina area. Together, the properties offer complementary accommodation options, with distinct views and varied destination experiences.
One of the new developments is the creation of its own DMC, which will allow the offering of complete packages including accommodation, transfers, and activities organized with exclusive suppliers. The proposal is to provide visitors with an integrated experience, facilitating access to Ushuaia’s main attractions.
Exclusive and personalized experiences
Among the differentiators are unique activities such as helicopter tours to Laguna Esmeralda and the Ojo del Albino Glacier, where personalized experiences can be arranged, including special celebrations with full setup, gastronomy, and exclusive ambiance.
The destination offers attractions in both winter and summer. During the snow season, there are winter centers and sports parks, while in summer the focus shifts to hiking trails, horseback riding, and activities in natural reserves. The hotel is located within a protected area, allowing direct contact with nature, always accompanied by specialized guides.
The main market is Argentine travelers, followed by Brazilians, Mexicans, and tourists from more distant markets such as Europe and Asia. The guest profile is high-end, interested in exclusive experiences, which is reflected in the hotel’s premium positioning.
During the summer, the destination also receives international cruise passengers, mainly from Europe and the Caribbean. For this audience, Arakur offers accommodation and complete experiences during short stays in the city.
With a proposal that combines luxury, nature, and tailor-made experiences, Arakur Ushuaia reinforces its positioning as one of South America’s leading high-end destinations, offering visitors a complete immersion into the essence of Patagonia.
