Iberostar Hotels & Resorts is participating in the latest edition of WTM Latin America 2026, taking place from April 14-16 at the Expo Center Norte in São Paulo. During the event, the company is presenting its latest developments, focusing on its portfolio in Mexico, its trade relations initiatives, and its commitment to responsible tourism.
In a context marked by the reactivation of the electronic visa for Brazilian travelers, Mexico is consolidating its position as a strategic destination for the company. In this regard, Iberostar continues to expand its presence with the addition of Iberostar Selection Riviera Cancún, slated to open at the end of 2025. This five-star, all-inclusive resort features 444 suites, including family options, beachfront accommodations, and rooms with direct access to semi-private pools, as well as a diverse culinary offering with international restaurants and concepts inspired by local cuisine.
Meanwhile, the chain is moving forward with the complete renovation of two of its flagship properties in the Riviera Maya: Iberostar Waves Quetzal and Iberostar Waves Tucan, which are scheduled to reopen in December. The project includes improvements to common areas, new room categories, renovated pools, spa, and restaurants, as well as the addition of concepts such as the Star Café and a new sports bar.
In parallel, Iberostar is strengthening its ties with travel agents, key players in its business strategy. In 2026, the company will hold the second edition of Star Agents LATAM, which will take place during the Grand Amazon Expedition in Brazil, bringing together the program's top professionals. Launched in 2020, Star Agents currently has more than 33,000 agencies and over 63,000 registered agents across the Americas, who have access to benefits, promotions, and rewards based on their performance.
Another highlight of the calendar will be the 19th edition of Estrellas, to be held at the Praia do Forte Complex in Bahia, featuring new award categories and a broader focus on recognizing strategic partners. The company is also promoting initiatives such as “Created by Travel Agents, for Travel Agents,” a web series that allows professionals to share real experiences at destinations within the chain, strengthening the connection with the product from an authentic perspective.
At its stand, Iberostar is also committed to an interactive experience, where visitors can participate in activities related to Wave of Change, its global responsible tourism initiative. This program is structured around seven key areas, ranging from climate action and the circular economy to destination management and people-centered care, integrating social, environmental, and governance dimensions.
With these actions, Iberostar Hotels & Resorts reaffirms its position in the Latin American market, consolidating its growth in strategic destinations, strengthening its relationship with the trade and advancing towards an increasingly sustainable tourism model.
