Belize will host the Caribbean Sustainable Tourism Conference (STC) 2026, the leading regional forum for strategic dialogue, high-level networking, and knowledge sharing on the future of sustainable tourism in the Caribbean.

Organized by the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO), this conference will bring together government leaders, private sector representatives, media, and international development organizations to foster a shared vision for more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable tourism.

Under the theme “Tourism in Full Color,” the 2026 edition proposes an innovative approach that integrates blue, green, orange, and other emerging economic models into tourism planning and development. This approach seeks to redefine the sector's growth paths through strategies that strengthen resilience, competitiveness, cultural identity, and inclusive prosperity in Caribbean destinations.

Over three and a half days, the program will offer a dynamic agenda including keynote speeches, expert panels, interactive debates, thematic sessions, and specialized workshops designed to translate ideas into concrete actions. In addition, attendees will be able to participate in field visits and study tours showcasing real-world examples of sustainable practices implemented in Belize.

Key topics will address some of the region's most pressing challenges, including climate change resilience, risk and disaster management, the protection and regeneration of marine and terrestrial ecosystems, resource management, digital inclusion, and equitable participation in the tourism value chain. Public policy frameworks, financing mechanisms, innovation, and community-led solutions will also be explored.

As part of the program, the CTO Sustainable Tourism Awards will be presented, recognizing individuals, organizations, and destinations that stand out for their commitment to innovation and sustainability in tourism.

One of the conference's highlights will be the keynote address by Dame Pania Tyson-Nathan, a pioneer of Indigenous tourism and an international leader in developing authentic and sustainable tourism experiences, whose experience will provide a crucial perspective on integrating communities and culture into the future of tourism.
