Arajet closed the month of March with its best passenger figures ever, reaching almost half a million passengers transported in the first quarter of the year, including connecting passengers, totaling 496,218. January was the airline's best month, while March ranked second, with around 150,000 passengers transported, according to data from the JAC, in addition to some 16,000 travelers who used the airline to connect to other destinations, using the Dominican Republic as a stopover point.
These results position Arajet as the fourth most important airline for the Dominican Republic in the quarter, only behind JetBlue, which took first place, followed by American Airlines and, by a very narrow margin, Delta Air Lines in third position.
“We continue working to make Arajet the leading airline in terms of passengers for the country, as well as to continue consolidating the Dominican Republic as the new air hub of the American continent,” stated Víctor Pacheco, who indicated that the company maintains its goal of closing the year 2026 exceeding 2 million passengers transported.
According to data from the Civil Aviation Board (JAC), New York was the destination with the highest passenger volume for Arajet, followed by Buenos Aires, Miami, Medellín, and Bogotá. Furthermore, the positive effects of the open skies agreement with the United States are already becoming evident, as 25% of the passengers carried by the airline had their origin or destination in that country.
The airline's second most important market was Colombia, with 18% of total passengers, followed by Argentina with 14%, reflecting Arajet's sustained growth in South America and its regional expansion strategy.
With these results, Arajet reaffirms its commitment to continue expanding its network of destinations, strengthening the country's air connectivity and offering competitive fares that boost tourism, trade and economic development in the Dominican Republic.
