Cartagena de Indias will once again host one of the most important events on the Latin American cultural calendar with the 65th edition of the Cartagena de Indias International Film Festival (FICCI), which will take place from April 14 to 19, 2026.

Founded in 1960, FICCI is recognized as the oldest film festival in Latin America and has established itself as a meeting platform for filmmakers, talent, industry and the general public, with a program that transcends film screenings.

The 2026 edition offers an expanded experience that integrates exhibitions, meetings with creators, industry activities, workshops, retrospectives, and community initiatives. Key highlights include the opening ceremony at the Convention Center, the Cinema in the Neighborhoods program, and a specialized agenda at the NIDO space, featuring talks, pitch sessions, and the participation of guest platforms such as Casa Brasil.

One of the festival's central aspects will be its ability to extend to different parts of the city, connecting cinema with everyday cultural life. Through initiatives like Cinema in the Neighborhoods, the event will bring screenings and activities to community spaces, promoting access and citizen participation.

This cultural dimension is complemented by a strong connection with the hospitality sector. Hotels, restaurants, and partner venues will be part of the experience, integrating accommodation, gastronomy, and social activities into the festival's program.

In terms of accommodation, this year's event will feature a specific selection of options, including establishments such as Townhouse Hotel, Casa de la Merced, and Casa de la Renta, the latter offering an exclusive six-night private residency. These initiatives highlight the role of independent hospitality within the event's cultural ecosystem.

Gastronomy will also play a prominent role, with special events at venues such as Restaurante El Beso, Townhouse Rooftop, Salón Tropical, and Discos y Mariscos, offering experiences for guests and accredited attendees. Additionally, various establishments will provide extra benefits, further integrating culture and social life.

In this context, the Nuestra Cartagena initiative takes on special significance. This project, driven by independent businesses, aims to showcase the city from a local perspective. It brings together hotels, restaurants, and cultural spaces with a focus on identity, sustainability, and community, offering a contemporary vision of the destination.

In this way, FICCI 2026 is presented not only as a film event, but as a comprehensive experience that brings together culture, hospitality, and the city. The upcoming edition reaffirms Cartagena's position as a destination where art, memory, and social life coexist organically.
