Meliá Hotels International unveiled the complete renovation of Meliá Barajas, one of its most iconic hotels in Madrid, following a €10 million investment. The project introduces a new "bleisure" concept, blending urban sophistication with the relaxing experience of a holiday setting, responding to the evolving needs of today's traveler.

The transformation encompassed the entire hotel, including guest rooms, common areas, dining areas, and meeting rooms. One of its key distinguishing features is the renovation of its gardens, which now include an outdoor pool, the new Gaia Pool Bar, and a 3,000 m² lawn, creating an environment rarely seen in the capital's urban landscape.

The development was made possible through a partnership with Petra AM, an investment platform specializing in hotel assets, which acquired the property in 2023 and spearheaded its repositioning in collaboration with Meliá Hotels International. This management model reflects a strategic alliance between investor and operator, aimed at optimizing the asset's value and its market proposition.

Located near Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport, with direct access to IFEMA, the Metropolitano Stadium, and the city center, the hotel positions itself as a strategic alternative for both corporate travelers and those in transit. Its facilities include 12 multifunctional rooms, among them a 450 m² plenary hall, allowing for events of varying sizes to be held in an environment that combines functionality and experience.

The completely renovated rooms feature a contemporary and inviting design, with a total of 10 categories to suit different guest preferences. This offering is complemented by The Level, the brand's premium service, which includes exclusive benefits such as private check-in, a lounge, and a private terrace, all designed to enhance the guest experience.

The culinary offerings have also been completely redesigned. Mosaico restaurant is positioned as the hub for breakfasts and events, while Trasluz introduces a Mediterranean-inspired menu with a local identity in a setting with a year-round terrace. Meanwhile, the Pool Club by the pool offers a more relaxed experience, combining informal lunches and dinners in a laid-back atmosphere.

With this renovation, Meliá Barajas reinforces its position as a distinctive hotel within Madrid, integrating connectivity, design, nature and services into a proposal that responds to the new trends in urban and corporate tourism.
