WTTC will hold a high-level meeting in Egypt in early May, bringing together global leaders from the travel and tourism industry in an unprecedented format: aboard the Crystal Serenity, during its transit through the Suez Canal.

Organized by the Government of Egypt and supported by the Antonio Lefebvre Foundation, Coral Group and Abercrombie & Kent, the three-day program will bring together ministers, CEOs and industry leaders with the aim of accelerating the global recovery through greater coordination between the public and private sectors.

Authorities and public policy officials from key markets such as Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Latin America and Europe will participate, in a context marked by geopolitical challenges that impact travel flows internationally.

The meeting will address strategic issues such as geopolitics and its impact on travel, the talent shortage, facilitating cross-border travel, high-value tourism, and responsible destination management. In addition, a roundtable discussion will be held focusing on policies to accelerate recovery in the Middle East, highlighting the need for concerted action.

The program will also highlight Egypt's growth as a global tourist destination, with a session dedicated to its long-term strategy and investment priorities.

“Egypt remains one of the world’s most attractive destinations and the ideal location to host this event. As industry leaders, it is our responsibility to move forward with confidence, promoting the sector’s unique appeal,” said Manfredi Lefebvre, Chairman of the WTTC Board.

For her part, Gloria Guevara, president and CEO of the organization, emphasized: “The travel and tourism sector is one of the most resilient, with the capacity to recover quickly when there is strong coordination between governments and the private sector. This meeting seeks precisely to accelerate that process and generate new opportunities at a global level.”

The initiative reinforces the sector's commitment to a sustainable recovery, based on international cooperation, investment and aligned leadership in the face of current challenges.
