At the Dominican Annual Tourism Exchange (DATE 2026), the airline highlighted its sustained growth since its launch and its commitment to transforming the Dominican Republic into a strategic hub for connecting North America, the Caribbean, and South America.

Can you introduce yourself and tell us about your role within the company?
My name is Alexandra Baret and I am Senior Sales and Distribution Manager at Arajet.

Arajet has revolutionized air connectivity in the region. What have been the main achievements since its launch?
We began operations in September 2022 and since then have developed a network connecting from Canada to Argentina. We operate with two hubs, and in September 2024, we opened our second hub in Punta Cana, which allowed us to reorganize routes according to demand, especially from the leisure travel segment. Today, we have a very solid expansion throughout the region.

How is this growth reflected in markets like Argentina and South America?
In Argentina, we already operate 27 weekly flights, connecting destinations such as Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Rosario, and Mendoza, in addition to the route to Santo Domingo. In South America, we also have a presence in São Paulo, Chile, Peru, and Colombia, with cities like Cartagena, Bogotá, and Medellín. Furthermore, we connect the Caribbean with destinations such as Saint Martin, Curaçao, and Aruba, expanding options for travelers.

Beyond point-to-point flights, how are you positioning the Dominican Republic as a hub?
Our focus isn't just on point-to-point flights, but on connectivity. We want passengers to use the Dominican Republic as a hub where they can make connections and also take multi-destination trips. For example, a passenger can fly from Costa Rica to Santo Domingo, stay a few days, and then continue on to Curaçao or Aruba. This opens up new possibilities within the Caribbean.

How do you work with the tourism sector to boost demand?
We work very closely with hotels, tour operators, DMCs, and travel agencies. The passengers we transport are the ones who then consume all the tourism offerings of the destination, so collaboration is key. We participate in joint initiatives, events, and networking to strengthen marketing efforts.

To conclude, what are the future prospects?
We remain focused on growth, adding more flights and continuing to expand connectivity to and from the Dominican Republic, consolidating our presence throughout the region.
