The Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, José Reyes Llanos, today launched the national pre-incubation competition for innovative tourism, “e-Turismo TEC,” an initiative that will select the 20 best technology-based entrepreneurship proposals to access a comprehensive process that will allow them to validate their ideas in a real environment and turn them into businesses with potential.

Of these 20 teams, the top three will receive prizes valued at up to S/12,000, as well as a full incubation grant from the foundation. These benefits are intended to help the proposals continue their development and achieve the creation and validation of their Minimum Viable Product (MVP).

Minister Reyes Llanos highlighted that this initiative will connect creativity and technology and, in addition, develop talent and capabilities, and put them at the service of the tourism sector.

“Under this challenge, we want you to contribute solutions to improve the quality of the visitor experience, promote sustainability, and integrate digital tools, among other things. Through a pre-incubation process, the selected teams will receive training, mentoring, and support,” he mentioned.

He added that the competition will not only identify ideas, but will also promote their development with specialized support, strengthening capacities in innovation, entrepreneurship and strategic use of technological tools.

Selection of entrepreneurial proposals
With the support of the Foundation for Agricultural Development of the National Agrarian University La Molina, this competition is aimed at teams of 2 to 4 people with early-stage entrepreneurial proposals that respond to the challenge: how to develop innovative and sustainable tourism experiences using emerging technologies?, in order to improve the visitor experience and strengthen the competitiveness of destinations.

The selected teams will participate in a hybrid pre-incubation process that will combine virtual training and mentoring sessions with an intensive face-to-face phase in the Cajamarca region, where they will present their initiatives in a Pitch Bootcamp and a Demo Day before investors linked to the foundation.

It is worth noting that, in the previous edition, the competition already demonstrated its potential by promoting initiatives with social and tourism impact, consolidating itself as a key platform for innovation in the sector.

“In the 2025 edition, three projects aimed at facilitating access to tourism for people with disabilities and enriching the gastronomic experience were recognized by our sector. These initiatives highlighted the importance of having tools that not only allow us to identify innovative ideas, but also support them in their development process and effectively connect them with the technological ecosystem. Therefore, I invite teams of entrepreneurs from all over the country to participate,” commented Minister Reyes.
