The spanish airline has announced that it will increase its offer between Madrid and Santiago de Chile for the summer season, operating this route with a frequency of 10 weekly flights
The new flights will begin operations on June 1 and will imply an increase of 40% per year in capacity, to approximately 340,000 seats. In addition to operating a flight every day of the week, Iberia will also have another additional flight on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, the airline said in a statement.
Iberia will also begin to introduce the class 'premium tourist' on its flights with Chile. The Spanish airline is the first to offer this intermediate class between the tourist and the 'business' on direct flights between Spain and Latin America.
With this new cabin design, the airline seeks to attract travelers willing "to pay more for greater comfort on board and on land" and thus boost their income.
The new 'premium tourist' has exclusive seats, more than 48 centimeters wide and 94 centimeters of separation between seats, improving by 20% the benefits in terms of comfort of the tourist class (deletes one seat per row) and with an improvement of 40% with a more reclining seat.
Travelers of the 'premium tourist' class will be able to travel with an additional suitcase, have counters with differentiated access in the tourist zone in the 'hub' of Madrid-Barajas and have priority both in boarding and disembarking, in addition to a proposal improved gastronomic The individual entertainment system will have the same content but in full HD screens, 33% larger than in tourist.
