The Mallorcan group has 33 nominations to the 25th edition of the "Oscars of Tourism"
The hotel industry around the world begins to make pools to see what establishments will be made with the World Travel Awards 2018, considered by many as the Oscars of tourism and this year celebrate its 25th edition. And in those bets Barceló Hotel Group has many possibilities, since with 33 nominations in Europe and Latin America it has become the Spanish network with the most nominations.
Thus 25 hotels in Spain, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Aruba, Bulgaria, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador and Nicaragua, and the chain itself that is nominated as "Best hotel chain in Mexico and Central America", will opt for a total of 33 possible awards.
Among the nominated hotels in Europe include the recently opened Royal Hideaway Corales Resort (Costa Adeje, Tenerife), which after being elected "Best new hotel in Europe 2018" at the European Hospitality Awards, could now get the WTA to "Best new hotel" of Europe "and the" Best beach hotel in Europe "; La Bobadilla, a Royal Hideaway Hotel (Granada), which has been nominated in the category of "Best Ecological Hotel in Europe" and the Royal Hideaway Sancti Petri (Cádiz), which has been in the "Best beach resort in Europe" and Spain". The Barceló Raval (Barcelona) and Barceló Torre de Madrid hotels could be awarded in the "Best Design Hotel in Europe" category. The latter, designed by Spanish interior designer Jaime Hayón, was inaugurated last year in the Plaza de España in Madrid and has already received numerous national and international recognitions, such as "Madrid's coolest design hotel" (The Telegraph), as well as one of the best "Best Design Hotel 2017" (Wallpaper UK) and "Best Hotel 2017" (Robb Report).
Regarding Latin America, among the 11 nominated hotels are the emblematic El Embajador, the Royal Hideaway Hotel, which has just celebrated 62 years with the completion of an ambitious reform process that has involved an investment of more than 40 million euros. Dollars; and the prestigious Barceló México Reforma, which was acquired by the chain in 2017. The name of the winners will be announced on June 30, at the European WTA awards ceremony that will take place in Athens (Greece), and on the 15th.
