Costa Rica arrives at WTM Latin America with a stand full of good news

ICT set up a stand at the Sao Paulo show to promote its destinations and present, among other novelties, the National Congress and Convention Center, which will be inaugurated in the next few hours

The ICT came to San Pablo to participate in WTM Latin America, one of the most important events on the continent that is visited for 3 days by thousands of professionals from the tourism sector worldwide. At the stand, the destinations of the country are being promoted by important operators such as Gray Line, Costa Rica Top Tours, Costa Rica Groups and Best Costa Rica. The delegation is headed by Evelyn Figueroa, ICT Marketing Department Cooperative Campaign Program.

The tourism industry of Costa Rica is experiencing an excellent moment, at this moment the main novelty is the inauguration of the National Center of Congresses and Conventions located in San José. It is a great step forward for the country in its goal of becoming a regional reference.
The complex has an area for indoor and outdoor exhibitions, lobbies, services, convention halls, parking areas, spaces for loading and unloading, warehouses, among others. Some 4,600 people can use the facilities simultaneously.
The architecture and the surroundings of the Center have been designed in harmony with the image of the country: reflective roofs, reuse of rainwater, taps with automatic closing, high-tech air conditioning systems, parasols that mitigate solar heating, internal lighting by means of LED and external systems with solar panels, internal and external arborization with native species, motion sensors for turning lights on and off, use of treatment plant, among other provisions.
The ICT has created a Meeting Tourism Division that, among its strategies, has the promotion of the National Center of Congresses and Conventions as the main point of attraction.

Another important novelty is that Juan Santamaría Airport has been recognized as the second best in the region. The international air terminal obtained the second place of the isthmus and the Caribbean, according to the World Airport Awards granted by the British consultancy Skytrax.
The tico airport, located in Alajuela, was only surpassed by Tocumen in Panama, which was crowned as the best of the isthmus, and was also recognized as having the best staff.
In the third position of the ranking is the Norman Manley airport, in Kingston, Jamaica.
These awards are granted thanks to the vote of travelers, which is obtained after conducting an annual survey of customer satisfaction in which more than 13 million people from more than 100 nationalities participate. The consultation was carried out between August 2017 and February of this year and some 550 airports in the world were taken into account. In the questions, travelers' experiences were evaluated in different services and performance indicators such as: billing, arrivals, transfers, purchases, security and immigration until departure at the boarding gate.
