Alejandro Zozaya, CEO of Apple Leisure Group, John Hutchinson, president of the group, and Gonzalo del Peón, president of AMResorts, detailed that the firm will manage the hotels Secrets Punta Mita Resort & Spa; Dreams Punta Mita Resort & Spa; Secrets Marina Resort & Spa and Now Natura Riviera Cancun.
The four new hotels represent two thousand rooms under development, consolidating as one of the fastest growing luxury travel companies in North America. AMResorts will reach 33 all-inclusive resorts in the country, with an offer of more than 12 thousand rooms in 15 destinations.
Zozaya detailed that the Banderas Bay complex in Punta de Mita, Secrets Punta Mita Resort & Spa and Dreams Punta Mita Resort & Spa, will have 200 and 415 rooms respectively, and will begin operations in 2020.
While Now Natura Riviera Cancun will have 534 rooms, it will open at the end of 2019 and will be located 15 kilometers from the Cancun International Airport. As for the Secrets Marina Resort & Spa, it will have 407 rooms, will start operating in 2020 and will be located in Marina El Cid, about 35 minutes from Playa del Carmen.
Hutchinson recalled that more than half of the 20,000 rooms of the portfolio of AMResorts is in Mexico, country in which they confirm their bet. Zozaya concluded "Today we are sending almost two million tourists from the United States to this country."
