Allows passengers to perform the process of migrations automatically and under a high security standard in half the time than with manual supervision
The ministers of Transport of Argentina, Guillermo Dietrich and of the Interior, Public Works and Housing, Rogelio Frigerio, inaugurated on Monday, April 23, a new system of control of "biometric doors" in the international airport of Ezeiza, which allows passengers to perform the process of migrations automatically and under a high security standard in half the time than with manual supervision.
These are new automated control doors in the Migration sectors, a system similar to that of the major airports in the world.
"This new system that we are launching is a very important step. These biometric doors will not only speed up the transit times of the travelers, but will also allow us to gather accurate information, through digital technology, from those entering and leaving Argentine territory, "said Frigerio during the ceremony.
For his part, Dietrich said that "improving the infrastructure of our airports means not only large works, but also solutions like this one, which with cutting-edge technology improve times and quality in the travel experience of the millions of people who pass through Ezeiza ".
The new technology will allow the passenger to perform the Migration procedures himself with the same controls, security and characteristics as the manual process, but in half the time, he assured.
With the new system, the passenger must approach the catwalk and approach his document to be analyzed. The document is processed and if everything is in order, the doors open and the passenger enters.
Subsequently, the capture and comparison of the face, the capture and comparison of the fingerprint are made and finally the remaining validations are carried out and the procedure is closed.
These biometric doors are located in Terminal A of the Ezeiza International Airport. The incorporation of the first 6 eGate equipment (Automated Border Control - ABC for its acronym in English) to record international transits (initially for income of adults with an Argentine passport), will allow to increase the agility in the registry of migratory control of passengers by means of a protocol that works under the same security rules in application in the current boxes and that solves the process of enabling entry / exit of the territory in less than 30 seconds.
