Argentina boosted its tourism offer in the United Kingdom

INPROTUR, together with the Tourism Authority of the City of Buenos Aires, presented the national proposal at the fair ELA 2018, dedicated entirely to the promotion of Latin American tourism

The Ministry of Tourism of the Nation, through the National Institute of Tourism Promotion (INPROTUR), participated together with the Tourism Authority of the City of Buenos Aires of the Latin America (ELA) 2018 fair in London, capital of United Kingdom, from 11 to 13 June.

Undoubtedly, this international meeting has a relevance within the tourism sector and is considered as a platform for business and promotion of Latin American tourism in the British market.

ELA is the only B2B event in the European tourism market dedicated exclusively to the promotion of Latin American tourism, whose participation is by invitation only. There, the main referents of the English tourism sector, including operators, travel agents and specialized media are summoned, who for three days hold meetings with 127 service providers and tourist destinations in Latin America, members of the Latin America Travel Association (LATA) of the United Kingdom.

LATA was created in 1996 with the objective of developing and improving the communications and working relationships of English operators and agents with Latin American tourism businesses. Companies like Cox & Kings and Revealed Travel of the United Kingdom reported a 5% growth in sales to Latin America and highlighted the increase in travel requests to Buenos Aires, especially driven by the incorporation of the new Norwegian Air flight between London and Buenos Aires, inaugurated last February.

At the same time, it is important to mention that in the first quarter of the current year there were almost 50 thousand arrivals from the United Kingdom. This meant a 5.2 percent increase over the same period in 2017.
