Dominican Republic, is recording in what has happened in 2018 (January - May), an increase in the arrival of visitors, both by air and maritime, as confirmed by the official figures of the entities that supply the same and that Infotur Dominicano has been given the task of collecting.
In this sense, between January and May, the arrival by both air and sea of a total of 3,786,189 visitors has been recorded, according to the calculations made by Infotur Dominicano based on the reports provided by the Ministry of Tourism (Mitur) and the Central Bank of the Dominican Republic (BCRD).
The tourist flow in accumulated terms for the period January - May of the year 2018, reached the figure of 2,853,998 non - resident visitors that entered the country through the different international airports, that is to say 506,178 additional travelers with respect to the same period of 2017, according to the monthly report of the Central Bank of the Dominican Republic (BCRD)
When including the influx of resident travelers, the total arrival of resident and non-resident passengers by air during the January-May period of 2018 amounted to 3,102,477 passengers, for an interannual variation of 5.9%, which represented 159,040 additional passengers in relation to to the same period of the year 2017.
We recall that last June 06 we published exclusively that the receiving tourist flow of the Dominican Republic registered between January and May of 2018, the arrival of 683,712 visitors, of these 505,028 were passengers (cruise passengers) and 505,028 have been crew personnel .
In the total sum, both foreigners and resident and non-resident Dominicans, as well as cruise passengers (passengers and crew), the Dominican Republic has received a grand total of 3,786,189 visitors.
