Medellín wants to seduce the Brazilian tourist

Brazil is one of the target markets that Medellín currently has due to the growth in the arrival of tourists from that country, which each year increases

In 2017, the city received 7.3% more travelers from the neighboring country compared to 2016, who come to enjoy different experiences that the destination has to offer, including shopping and culture.

For these reasons, Medellin will visit the neighboring country to carry out promotional activities in July, which aims to increase the arrival of travelers from this destination, which last year showed a growth of 7.3% over 2016 according to figures from SITUR.

Maceió, a city located northeast of Brazil, will host the Braztoa Experience (Brazilian Association of Tour Operators), an event that proposes a new format for business promotion and the promotion of tourism among its associates, agents and other public tourism institutions and private. There approximately 400 agencies will know the reasons to visit Medellin.

"We want to take a message focused on the promotion of our flowers and culture, since Maceió, being a city of sun and beach, travelers are more likely to choose destinations that offer other types of experiences, such as those offered by Medellin" María Fernanda Galeano, Secretary of Economic Development of Medellín.

In addition, a two-day trade agenda will be held with tourism wholesale and retail agencies in Sao Paulo, a city prioritized within the Medellin international promotion agenda, in which activities are carried out each year to make the city a destination chosen by each more time Brazilian tourists.
