RIU Hotels & Resorts reopens after several months of renovation one of its most emblematic hotels in Mexico, the Riu Tequila, originally opened in Playa del Carmen in 1998. The Mallorcan chain presents the changes of this All-Inclusive 24 Hours hotel, which has been renovated by complete its common areas, gardens and rooms, and that increases its gastronomic offer with two new restaurants and a kiosk with grill specialties.
The reform of the Riu Tequila has included the renovation of its 630 rooms. In the decoration, fresher and more modern, dominates the white with touches of red and has kept the warmth of the wood in their furniture. Ceramic parquet has been installed in all the rooms, thus adapting to the new style that RIU is introducing in its hotel offer. The bathrooms in the rooms, whose floor is the same material, all have a shower.
Keeping the essence of the Mexican Caribbean in the blocks of rooms that surround it, the outer area of the Riu Tequila has gone from having two large organic pools and one for children, to offer a total of five more modern, rectangular-shaped pools. One of them is for the exclusive use of children and has slides, while another has a swim-up bar.
After the reform, the Riu Tequila offers the new Italian restaurant 'Rinascita' and a new Steackhouse called 'Black Cow'. Both are added to the existing main buffet 'Rosa Roja', Asian 'Bamboo' and beach restaurant 'Beach Club', which at night becomes a theme of Mexican cuisine. In addition, the hotel now offers the aforementioned barbecue station that prepares grilled specialties for lunch.
With the complete renovation of the main building, the lobby bar, 'La Veranda', has been renovated and renamed; the lounge bar, 'La Fiesta' and the 'Sports Bar 24', in the same way as the swim-up bar in the garden area, the 'Coco's Bar'.
Next to the children's pool are the RiuLand club and a children's playground, while the new gym and the Riu Fit area are also located in this area. These new features and the new free Wi-Fi service that is now available throughout the hotel add to the full range of entertainment offered by the entertainment team and the also renewed 'Pacha' nightclub.
