The Minister of Tourism of the Nation, Gustavo Santos and his pair of Modernization, Andrés Ibarra, met to advance in the increase of the Internet in localities and tourist areas considered strategic
Santos highlighted the importance of Internet connectivity in tourist destinations for country promotion and for commercialization and competitiveness of service providers.
Also, the Minister of Tourism of the Nation, said that "it is essential to strengthen Internet connectivity at border crossings and special events such as popular festivals in the territory."
"Connectivity is a necessary condition for us to generate sustained growth and true digital inclusion for all Argentines, access to quality internet not only helps to close the digital divide but also guarantees the productive development of all regions in equal conditions, "said Ibarra.
At the same time, a work table was created for the digital development of tourist destinations, focusing on the main destinations and the towns that make up the Authentic Towns; the Andino and the Litoral corridors; and the Patagonia, National Parks and National Route 40 projects.
From this meeting, in addition to the ministers, the Secretaries of Development and Tourism Promotion, and Coordination and Tourist Investments, Alejandro Lastra and Sebastián Slobayen; the undersecretaries of Innovation and Technology, and Tourism Development, Pablo Casals and Mariano Ovejero. In addition, Raúl Martínez, Secretary of Technological Infrastructure and Digital Country in the Ministry of Modernization were present on behalf of the Ministry of Modernization; Laura Borsato, Undersecretary of Development of Digital Country; and René Solanet, Technology and Communications Advisor.
