Amadeus achieves IATA level 3 NDC certification as aggregator

Through the NDC-X program, Amadeus connects airlines and travel distributors using the NDC standard

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has awarded Amadeus the New Distribution Capability (NDC) level 3 certification as an aggregator. This is in addition to the certification of the same level that Amadeus already had as a technology provider, which makes the company one of the first suppliers in the industry to have two level 3 NDC certifications.

This is the highest level in the framework of NDC certifications and is granted to companies that demonstrate their ability to execute the management of offers and orders, that is, that Amadeus can access the NDC content of the airlines and distribute it to the marketers of travels.

Through the NDC-X program, Amadeus connects airlines and travel distributors using the NDC standard. The achievement of this certification responds to the collaboration of Amadeus with Travix, a leading travel portal that joined the program at the beginning of the year.

"We are delighted to work with a leading online agency such as Travix and to be one of the first suppliers in the industry to achieve two Level 3 NDC certifications. The NDC-X program is fully operational and is the latest example of Amadeus' capability. to make the NDC concept a reality for the sector, "says Gianni Pisanello, Vice President of the Amadeus NDC-X program. "We are making significant progress in the context of our goal of providing our client airlines with the tools they need to offer their new NDC content to our global network of large-scale travel distributors."

John Mangelaars, CEO of Travix, says: "In recent months we have enjoyed a fascinating experience working with Amadeus as part of the NDC-X program to design a solution that will make it easier for online travel distributors to access both NDC content and From other sources, further into the year, our teams will use this NDC solution to make purchases, orders and payments through Amadeus. The latest certification reflects the strength of our alliance and our capabilities through the use of the IATA NDC standard. "

"By achieving Level 3 NDC certification as an aggregator, Amadeus demonstrates its strong commitment to driving the industrialization of the NDC to underpin a new era in the commercialization of airline products that will result in a better shopping experience for travelers. This certification consolidates Amadeus' enormous progress to date, and I look forward to seeing what the future holds, "said Yanik Hoyles, director of IATA's New Distribution Capability program.

Amadeus received the NDC level 3 certification as a technology provider in 2016, and has recently been the first to renew this certification with the latest version of the NDC standard, 18.1, launched in March of this year.

These certifications constitute important advances within the framework of the Amadeus objective of promoting the progress of the NDC standard. This year, Amadeus launched its NDC-X program, which combines all its activities related to NDC in a single environment, both as a technology provider and as an aggregator.
