Aerolíneas Argentina appoints new President

Aerolíneas Argentinas announces the appointment of Ing. Luis Malvido as President of the company. He will replace Mr. Mario Dell'Acqua in the position.

Malvido is a senior executive at a global level with more than 25 years of experience in senior management, 16 of them as CEO in 4 different countries: Argentina, Venezuela, Brazil and Czech Republic.

In his career, Malvido led the different aspects of the business: launching new companies, fast-growing companies, mergers and acquisitions, crisis management and transformation and digitization programs.

From 2015 to last December, Malvido was Telefónica's Executive Director for the Hispanic region of South America, which includes business in Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Chile and Uruguay. He was previously President and CEO of Telefónica O2 in the Czech Republic, the largest telecommunications company in that country.

He came to this position after being General Manager of Telefónica's fixed telephony operation in Brazil, providing voice, data and television services for residential and corporate clients. As of January 2005, Malvido had served as President and CEO of Telefónica Venezuela, leading its acquisition and a process of accelerated growth. Previously, he was Vice President and CEO of Telefónica Móviles de Argentina, a position he held since June 1998.

Previously, engineer Malvido occupied various positions in sales, customer service, business development and strategic planning. In all of them he has proven to be a great leader of human groups.

Malvido, born in Argentina, is a graduate in Industrial Engineering from the Technological Institute of Buenos Aires (ITBA). His academic training is completed with postgraduate studies carried out at IESE in Madrid, and at IDEA and at the ITBA itself in Buenos Aires.

For his part, Engineer Mario Dell'Acqua will continue as a member of the Aerolineas Argentinas board of directors. The company is grateful for the commitment and dedication of Mario Dell'Acqua, who during his tenure as President of the company worked on reducing the deficit, optimizing the operation and routes, with a strong focus on service quality, punctuality and the incorporation of new passengers.

The replacement of the position will be specified in the next shareholders meeting of the company, during the month of August.
