SKY announces its international expansion in Peru

The future base in Lima of the company will operate with the new A320neo aircraft fleet

An important milestone today added SKY -the recently awarded as the best low cost airline in South America- to its trajectory, after officially announcing the start of its international expansion plan, which considers Peru as the country chosen for the installation of its first base abroad.
The fast growth that the airline has had for three years - when it announced its conversion to the low cost model - and the successful implementation of it, strengthened the international projection plans.
"For us it's a big step. This is the first stage of SKY's internationalization, which we will consolidate step by step. We have chosen Peru for its economic stability, the confidence it projects and its growth rates. All that, make it a very attractive country to invest and build long-term relationships of trust, "said SKY CEO Holger Paulmann.
According to the established schedule, during the next few days the company will begin to process the official permits to operate fully in Peru - with national and international destinations. Meanwhile, SKY's first commercial flight in that country would be scheduled for the first half of 2019.
"The installation of SKY in Peru will have an important benefit for people, since the prices of the tickets could fall by about 30%. In this way we will continue to lead our challenge to democratize the skies and to encourage more and more people to fly by plane and make air transport an area of inclusion throughout South America, "said Paulmann.
On the other hand, he stressed that the future SKY base in Lima will operate with the new A320neo aircraft fleet, which will be the newest and most modern in South America. These are more efficient aircraft with less environmental impact.
