Airports of Dominican Republic recorded mobilization of more than 1.4 million passengers in July

The Punta Cana International Airport has concentrated the largest number of travelers

The international airports of the Dominican Republic registered in July 2018, the migratory passage of more than 1.4 million people according to the General Directorate of Migration (DGM) in an information provided to Infotur Dominicano.

Of this total of people who made use of the air terminals for trips to and from the Dominican Republic, 718, 564 entered the country in the month of July, while 721, 930 used these facilities to leave the Dominican national territory.

The Punta Cana International Airport in La Altagracia province was the air terminal that concentrated the largest number of passengers, followed by Las Americas airports in Santo Domingo, Cibao in Santiago, Gregorio Luperón in Puerto Plata, El Catey de Samaná, La Romana, Joaquín Balaguer in Santo Domingo and María Montés in Barahona.

With regard to migratory movements along the land border, the DGM reported that in the same period, 24,133 entries and 20,133 departures were registered, mainly by the Jimaní border crossing, where the largest flow was reported, followed by Dajabón, Elías Piña and Pedernales.

As far as the seaway is concerned, the statistical data show the registry of 90,963 entries and 90,458 departures, with the highest concentration in the tourist ports of Maimón in Puerto Plata and La Romana, which are the most visited by cruise ships.
