The Secretary of Tourism, Enrique de la Madrid, and Miguel Torruco Marqués, future head of the Sectur, led on Tuesday the first meeting of the transition process in this unit, which is carried out by the Government of the Republic with the President-Elect team , Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
The meeting, which took place at the facilities of the Sectur, was characterized by cordiality and coordination between both teams, since De la Madrid Cordero and Torruco Marqués have maintained a friendly relationship for years, which meant the meeting.
Participants focused mainly on addressing the issues that require immediate attention, such as those of a budgetary nature, those pertaining to promotional contracts, the relevance of continuing to attend certain fairs, and agreed that in the coming days in each of the areas will be addressed and work on the transition will continue.
On the part of the officials of the Ministry of Tourism expressed all the disposition and facilities to be able to deliver all the elements required by the incoming administration to start and continue building this sector that has become one of the main engines of the economy of the country.
On the part of the Sectur, in addition to the holder, Enrique de la Madrid, the Undersecretary of Innovation and Tourism Development, Gerardo Corona González; the Undersecretary of Planning and Tourism Policy, María Teresa Solís; the general director of the Tourism Promotion Council of Mexico (CPTM), Héctor Flores Santana; the general director of the National Fund for the Promotion of Tourism, Miguel Alonso Reyes, and the Senior Official, Luis Mario Aguilar and Maya Medrano.
Simón Levy and Humberto Herández Haddad, future undersecretaries of Tourism, also attended this first meeting; Rogelio Jiménez Pons, future holder of the National Fund for Tourism Promotion (Fonatur), and Gabriela Cámara, who will occupy the ownership of the Tourism Promotion Council of Mexico (CPTM).
