La Romana - Bayahibe leads the ranking with 86.2%, followed by Punta Cana - Bávaro with 85% and in third place Samaná is located with 75.5%
The Dominican Republic records an average rate of hotel occupancy until September 2018 of 79.1% according to the results provided and obtained by Infotur Dominicano of the statistics prepared by the National Association of Hotels and Tourism of the Dominican Republic (Asonahores), vice technical ministry of the Ministry of Tourism (Mitur) and the Central Bank of the Dominican Republic (BCRD).
This average is obtained from the summation of the statistics in September when an average rate of 60.1% (the lowest of the year) was recorded and registered in January with 84.1%; February, which was 88.5%; March of 84.5% April with 84.1%; May with 75.9%; June with 77.4%; July with 83.3% and August with 74.6% occupancy rate.
In these nine months, the destinations La Romana - Bayahibe leads the occupancy of hotel rooms with 86.2%, followed by the destination Punta Cana - Bávaro with 85% and in third place Samaná is located with 75.5%.
In the same order are the following Dominican destinations: Boca Chica - Juan Dolio with 71.7%; Puerto Plata with 63.6%; Santiago with 61.1%; Santo Domingo with 59.6% and Sosúa - Cabarete with 59.1%.
In comparison with the occupancy rate until September 2017, the average is 4.8% higher since it was 55.3 percent up to the ninth month of the previous year.
