The first luxury hotel from Marriott International arrives to Sao Paulo

The expected inauguration of W São Paulo in 2021 will mark the arrival of the chain's first luxury hotel in Brazil

W Hotels Worldwide, part of Marriott International, Inc., today announced the signing of the brand's first hotel in Brazil. Scheduled to open in 2021, W São Paulo will add a new rhythm to the heart of Brazil's most populous metropolis. With lively places to take a craft cocktail, hedonistic snacks and enjoy views from the roof, W São Paulo is setting a completely new scene in SP. The hotel is scheduled to join the exciting line-up of W openings in the region including W Panama (open as of February 2018) and W Costa Rica (open as of the end of 2018). Owned by HBR Realty, the W São Paulo will be not only the first for W, but the first Marriott International luxury hotel in the country.

"Brazil is beautiful in every way, from the diversity in design and architecture, to the endless variety of dishes, even the people themselves. Everyone wants to be part of the action and the W is no exception, "said Anthony Ingham, Global Brand Leader for W Hotels Worldwide. "São Paulo is specifically a city of opposites - nature vs. technology, old vs. new. The city, like the W, welcomes its idiosyncrasy and welcomes the world to its door. As our first property in the country, W São Paulo will be totally different to any other hotel in Brazil, combining the bold design of the W and the dynamic lifestyle of the brand with a Brazilian touch that incorporates the unique charm of Sao Paulo. "

Designed by Nini Andrade Silva and the renowned design team of the W brand, the W São Paulo will feature 179 deluxe rooms for guests, including two WOW Suites and an Extreme WOW Suite (the version of a Presidential Suite of the brand) , as well as two characteristic restaurants that include dinner on the roof with ample views of the city and a distinctive lounge (lobby) bar. W São Paulo also invites its guests to stimulate their stays with a modern FIT center and the wide WET Deck (pool). Ultramodern event facilities will bring meetings and social gatherings to the next level with approximately 1,500 square meters of meeting space.

São Paulo is an animated metropolis where the striking modernist architecture faces the vibrant tropical landscape. The aesthetics of this unique property will juxtapose the modernist traditions of the great Brazilian architects with their dreamed tropical landscape. From the ground floor of lush gardens and winding roads to the iconic rooftop with an infinity pool, the design details will honor the local culture and the dynamic people of Brazil.

Located in the popular Vila Olímpia business district in São Paulo, the property will be only two blocks away from JK Iguatemi, one of the city's main luxury shopping areas, with many luxury shops and trendy restaurants. W São Paulo will be surrounded by a mix of high-end residential towers and a wide variety of nightlife and entertainment. The hotel will be approximately five kilometers from Congonhas Airport and 25 kilometers from Guarulhos International Airport.

"HBR Realty, in partnership with Helbor and Toledo Ferrari, is proud to collaborate with Marriott International and bring the first W hotel in Brazil to the vibrant metropolis of São Paulo," said Andre Agostinho, director of HBR Realty S.A. "This global brand represents originality, modern luxury and the highest standards in hospitality. The bold future of W São Paulo, planned to be designed and built as a work of art, will offer exclusive accommodation combined with a vibrant scene in one of the most coveted addresses in São Paulo. "

"Marriott International is excited to bring the W to São Paulo and, with it, raise the hotel offer in the region," said Laurent de Kousemaeker, Development Director of the Caribbean and Latin America Region for Marriott International, Inc. "The Expansion of Marriott International with this luxury hotel demonstrates our commitment to this important country, where we now operate 15 hotels. "

The inauguration of the W São Paulo will mark the seventh W hotel in the Caribbean and Latin America region along with the W Santiago, W Mexico City, W Costa Rica, W Panama, W Colombia and W Punta de Mita.
