LATAM launches Wi-Fi and now offers an even more complete on-board experience

LATAM Play will bring together connectivity systems and an incomparable variety of content on a single platform

LATAM Airlines Brasil started offering Wi-Fi on its planes that operate domestic flights in Brazil and then on flights departing from the country to other destinations in Latin America. This service is part of the LATAM Play platform, which aims to bring together connectivity systems and an incomparable variety of content in a single channel.
As of last month, LATAM started flying 9 Airbus A319 aircraft equipped with this service that operate within Brazil. Until the end of 2018, Wi-Fi will be installed on some 30 Airbus A320 family aircraft (A319 and A320) that operate within Brazil and on flights connecting the country with Latin America.
"We are very pleased to be able to implement this innovation for our clients, as part of the transformation of our travel experience and giving passengers the option of being connected at all times." More than just Wi-Fi, it is a platform complete entertainment, "said Jerome Cadier, CEO of LATAM Airlines Brazil.
The 2Ku technology is supplied by Gogo, a company with global experience in satellite internet access within airplanes. The proposal is to offer connection options that meet all types of needs with values from Brazilian R $ 7.50 (US $ 2 approximately) per hour. In addition, there will be availability of packages for both passengers seeking a basic service (to check email and send messages) and for those who need to surf and use streaming services.
Internet service will also gradually reach the other countries where LATAM Airlines Group operates, on dates that will be communicated in a timely manner.
The LATAM Play platform is accessible through personal mobile devices with the iOS or Android operating system. The application offers the passenger access to more than 80 movies, more than 300 series, more than 2,800 songs, access to the flight map, daily news, programming for children and the contents of VAMOS, the LATAM platform considered the best tourism publication for the 2017 Content Marketing Awards.

The LATAM Play application is available in the Apple Store and Google Play virtual stores and its download must be done before the flight. For customers who had already installed the old LATAM Entertainment application, the migration to the new platform occurred automatically in the case of mobile devices with this update function already enabled.

"In the coming months, we will continue to improve this complete experience in LATAM Play, which already has 4 million downloads in the countries where we operate." The third phase of implementation of our on-board entertainment platform will be live TV, which will arrive to deliver even more autonomy and options to our passengers, "says Eduardo Costa, Director of Customer Experience and Marketing of LATAM Airlines Group
