Viva Air, the leading low cost airline in Latin America, announced a new direct international route between Miami and Santa Marta. It is the first direct route ever offered between both cities, with fares starting at $ 174 dollars, round trip. The tickets are now available for reservation and the first flights will take off on December 18, 2018.

"We are happy to announce our new Miami-Santa Marta-Miami international route, in the first year we expect to transport more than 31,000 passengers by giving them the opportunity to travel to Colombia with our economic prices," said Felix Antelo, CEO of Viva Air.

Viva Air will operate three flights a week between Miami and Santa Marta on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 10:38 a.m. The airline has offered direct flights from Miami to Medellin since December 2015, transporting more than 150,000 passengers.

Thanks to this new route, Viva Air will link the region while continuing to position Colombia as one of the main destinations for American travelers.
