Ports of the Dominican Republic begin 2019 with the arrival of 12 cruises

The Dominican Republic starts well in the cruise sector, receiving more than 40,000 visitors in 12 cruise ships this week, according to the information collected by Infotur Dominicano in the three destinations to which they arrived.

In that sense, Puerto Plata, the first week of January 2019, the cruise ships that are scheduled to arrive are: Carnival Sunshine, ms Koningsdam of the Holland America company, AIDAluna of the company AIDA Cruises, the Carnival Conquest, the Carnival Magic, the Azura P & O Cruises and the Costa Deliziosa of the Costa Cruises company, all with a general capacity of up to 25,001 visitors, including passengers and crew

The information that we handle in Infotur Dominicano, in the cruise terminal of La Romana will arrive the Carnival Horizon cruises, Mein Schiff 5 of the company TUI Cruises and the Magellan of the company Cruise & Maritime, totaling between these three vessels a capacity of up to 11,332 visitors (between passengers and crew)

While Samaná will be receiving the visit of the cruise ships AIDAdiva of the company AIDA Cruises and the Artania of the Phoenix Reisen company, receiving in this way 4,493 visitors, in addition to the arrival of the AIDAluna, (2,707), which will arrive in this way to two destinations (Puerto Plata and Samaná)

According to the information collected by Infotur Dominicano, Santo Domingo and Cap Cana, the arrival of cruise ships is not scheduled this first week of the year.

In this way the country begins the year 2019 with the arrival of 12 cruises with a total capacity of about 40,826 visitors (cruise passengers and crew).

We recall that last week we published exclusively that the country will be receiving about 57 ship berths in January 2019, being one of the most active months in Dominican ports.
