Last season La Romana - Bayahibe led the occupancy of rooms with 85.9%, followed by Punta Cana - Bávaro with 83.4% and Samaná with 73%
The Dominican Republic registers an average rate of hotel occupancy in 2018 of 77.5% according to the results obtained by Infotur Dominicano.
This average is obtained from the summation of the statistics of the whole year, taking in the last month, a record of 77% occupation, added to the monthly average of the rest of the year as we have continuously published exclusively in 2018.
In that sense, the hotel sector had the following monthly average: January with 84.1%; February, which was 88.5%; March of 84.5% April with 84.1%; May with 75.9%; June with 77.4%; July with 83.3%, August with 74.6%; September with 60.1%; October with 66.4% and November, which registered a 74.4% occupancy rate.
In these twelve months, the destination La Romana - Bayahibe leads the occupancy of hotel rooms with 85.9%, is followed by Punta Cana - Bávaro with 83.4% and in third place Samaná is located with 73%.
In the same order are the following Dominican destinations: Boca Chica - Juan Dolio with 71.4%; Santo Domingo with 60.7%; Santiago with 60.5%; Puerto Plata with 60.1% and Sosúa - Cabarete with 57%.
In comparison with the occupancy rate of 2017, the average is 0.4% higher, since in that year it closed with 77.1 percent.
