The new denomination replaces Marriott Rewards, The Ritz-Carlton Rewards and Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG)
Marriott International today introduced Marriott Bonvoy, the new loyalty brand that replaces current loyalty brands - Marriott Rewards, The Ritz-Carlton Rewards and Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) - and reflecting the unparalleled benefits, exclusive loyalty portfolio and experiences announced last year. Marriott Bonvoy is based on the belief that travel enriches us and that it has the power to enrich the world. Marriott Bonvoy will be launched on February 13 when the logo and brand begin to be deployed at all contact points, including properties, marketing and sales channels, digital media, mobile and credit cards with shared brands backed by a global campaign billionaire starting at the end of February.
"Marriott Bonvoy indicates an evolution in travel because it represents more than a loyalty program," said Stephanie Linnartz, Global Commercial Director of Marriott International. "Marriott Bonvoy is a travel program designed to give life to our extraordinary global portfolio of brands and hotels in 129 countries and territories, offering inexhaustible inspiration to its members to continue traveling and following their passions."
Linnartz continued: "Represented by a simple, bold and modern logo, Marriott Bonvoy is welcoming and optimistic. Our 120 million members have access to the leading hotel portfolio with the best rates and benefits, and our collection of Moments experiences helps them explore and discover the world firsthand. "
As of February 13, Marriott Rewards Moments and SPG Moments will become Marriott Bonvoy Moments, which together with Marriott Moments will have approximately 120,000 experiences in 1,000 destinations available for purchase or redeeming points. In addition to having access to local attractions and excursions, such as Patagonian glacier treks, desert excursions on camel back in Morocco or navigating the timeless floating villas of Vietnam, members can pamper themselves with a unique experience in the life, like cooking with renowned chefs Daniel Boulud and Eric Ripert or polishing their football skills with wide receiver Hall of Famer Jerry Rice.
During 2019, Marriott will bring Marriott Bonvoy to life with a series of events with experiences for partners benefitting from the company's marketing partnerships with iconic brands including the NCAA and FIA Formula 1 ™ World Champions, Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport, as well as through sponsorships such as the Oscars®, the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, the Dubai Jazz Festival, the Hong Kong Sevens and the PGA Tour World Golf Championships - Mexico Championship.
On August 18, 2018, Marriot presented a loyalty program with unified benefits under the three legacies of loyalty brands - Marriott Rewards, The Ritz-Carlton Rewards and SPG. On February 13, the combined program completes its integration under a single name, Marriott Bonvoy.
With Marriott Bonvoy, members will have access to the portfolio of various Marriott brands, including the largest collection of lifestyle and luxury properties. Whether in sun-drenched bungalows on the water at the St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort, in a holiday resort next to the mountain nestled in front of the ski slopes as in the Westin Resort and Whistler Spa, on beachfront properties embracing the white sands as in The Ritz-Carlton, Bali, even the iconic urban towers that offer panoramic views as in the imposing JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Dubai, or in old palatial residences like The Gritti Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Marriott Bonvoy to its partners an incomparable offer of experiences while earning attractive benefits for its membership.
Since Marriott introduced the unified loyalty benefits under Marriott Rewards, The Ritz-Carlton Rewards and SPG last August, partners have been able to book stays without problems and earn and redeem points through the entire portfolio and achieve Elite status faster with the new Elite levels. On average, members now earn 20 percent more points for every dollar spent.
The launch of Marriott Bonvoy will present two new names for the previous Elite status level names:
Marriott Bonvoy Titanium Elite will replace Platinum Premier Elite for members exceeding 75 nights.
Marriott Bonvoy Ambassador Elite will replace Platinum Premier Elite with Ambassador. This superior Elite status recognizes members who exceed 100 nights and more than $ 20,000 of annual expenses. These partners enjoy the highest level of personalization with a dedicated ambassador to help plan your trip and meet your needs one by one.
Marriott Bonvoy will give way to a new mobile experience. Partners using the SPG or The Ritz-Carlton Rewards applications are encouraged to download the current Marriott application, which will be automatically updated to become the Marriott Bonvoy application on February 13. The SPG and The Ritz-Carlton Rewards applications will be deactivated on that date.
