Copa Airlines adds Suriname to its extensive network of destinations

On July 6, the airline inaugurates direct flights between Panama City and Paramaribo, connecting this destination in a timely and efficient manner with other 80 cities on the continent through the Hub of the Americas

Copa Airlines, a subsidiary of Copa Holdings, SA, {NYSE: CPA} and a member of the global airline network Star Alliance, today announced the start of operations in Paramaribo, the capital of Suriname, starting next July 6 with two weekly flights . In this way, the South American country will become the 81st destination that the airline connects with the rest of the continent through its Hub of the Americas, located at the Tocumen International Airport in Panama City.

Once the flights between Panama City and Paramaribo begin, Suriname will be connected quickly and efficiently to 32 other countries in North, Central and South America and the Caribbean through the Hub of the Americas, the hub with the most flights in the region, which provides passengers with shorter connection times and the possibility of completing their itineraries without the need for customs or immigration procedures.

Paramaribo is the capital of Suriname, located in the north of the country on the Atlantic Ocean and with a population of about 260 thousand inhabitants. With an architecture influenced by the British and Dutch cultures, Paramaribo is a lively city with a fascinating ethnic mix, which offers its visitors attractions such as walks along the Suriname River, as well as tours through its renowned historic center, which reflects a villa Dutch colonial composed of a large variety of colonial and religious buildings of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. This center is considered by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, which attracts thousands of tourists every year.

The CM318 flight of Copa Airlines will operate initially with two weekly frequencies on Wednesdays and Saturdays, departing at 9:17 a.m. from Panama (local time) and arriving at Johan Adolf Pengel International Airport at 3:45 p.m. (local time). The return flight, CM319, will start on the same day from Paramaribo at 5:52 p.m., arriving in Panama at 8:28 p.m. (local time). The route will be operated by a Boeing 737-700 with capacity for 12 passengers in Business Class and 112 in the main cabin.

For these flights, the service aboard Copa Airlines includes complimentary meals and beverages, including wines and beverages; a system of 12 channels of audio-visual entertainment in English, Spanish and Portuguese, with new movies every month and free headphones.
