The executive stressed that without a doubt, 2019 will be a key year for the chain, as they have projections to start building new properties, one in Los Cabos with its own golf course and 500 rooms and the other in Litubú, which will be opening in the next two years.

He said that in addition to these two buildings in Mexico will have an important expansion in South America and Punta Cana. He assured that although they have not projected the exact location in South America, it will surely be in Brazil, near Rio de Janeiro and Salvador Bahia, also by 2020 or 2021.

The executive highlighted that in Mexico they have 11 hotels, including the Iberostar Cancún Star Prestige, which presents an "all inclusive" premium service to offer an unforgettable experience to its guests. This year, Iberostar Hotels & Resorts celebrates its twentieth anniversary in Mexico. The brand, which receives more than half a million visitors each year, has contributed to the development of the tourism industry through investments that exceed $ 775 million and the creation of more than 4,500 direct jobs in the country.

With more than 80% of its hotels around the world located on the seafront, Iberostar has mapped a path aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations, paying special attention to people, the main force behind success of the company. With the environment Iberostar has established a special commitment, through the protection of the oceans. To make this last objective a reality, the brand has launched "A wave of change", an ambitious movement that revolves around three main lines of action: the elimination of plastic pollution, the promotion of sustainable fishing and the health of Coast zones. In 2019, all Iberostar rooms of its more than 120 hotels will have eradicated single-use plastics.
