Aeromexico strengthens its presence in South America with two new destinations

The flag carrier of Mexico announced that Guayaquil, Ecuador and Cali, Colombia will be the two new international destinations that will arrive from Mexico City, with which it reinforces its presence in South America

As of May 1, Aeroméxico will fly to Guayaquil with three weekly frequencies on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. It will operate a Boeing 737-800 with capacity for 160 passengers, 16 of them in Premier Class.

It will leave CDMX at 1:10 am to arrive at 5:50, and the return is scheduled at 8:40 and land at 1:35 pm. Santiago de Guayaquil is the second destination in Ecuador to which the airline flies, in addition to Quito where it started operations more than five years ago.

Known as "the Pearl of the Pacific" for its great port capacity and the beauty of the beaches that surround it, Guayaquil is the financial capital of the country for having one of the most important ports in Latin America. Its gastronomy is very varied, from ceviches, seafood, casseroles, to broths, fries, hornados, yogurt and Ecuadorian yucca bread.

The route to Cali will begin operations on May 16 and will have four frequencies a week, leaving the Mexican capital on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday at 18:10, arriving in the Colombian city at 22:45. The return will be on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, leaving at 00:10 and landing at CDMX at 4:45.

This flight will use a Boeing 737-700 with capacity for 124 passengers, 11 of them in Premier Class. Cali is the third Aeromexico destination in Colombia, since it already operates in Bogotá and Medellín since 2010 and 2015, respectively.

Located in the Cauca river valley, it is known as the world capital of salsa; It stands out for its potential in the cultivation of sugar and animal husbandry. It is one of the three main cities of Colombia and a reference for tourism in the country. In addition, several dishes stand out gastronomically, such as cholado, shampoos, emparajado and chop.

The executive vice president of Commercial Aeromexico, Anko van der Werff, commented "We are very proud to offer Mexicans and connecting passengers a greater offer to new Latin American destinations. Currently we have more than 20 years with presence in South America, flying to seven major cities, which positions us as the airline of Mexico with the largest presence in the region. With the new routes, the airline has a network of 93 destinations, 50 of them international in three continents.
